2023 DDG-5 Reunion
18-21 May. Jacksonville, Florida
The 2023 Reunion will be held in Jacksonville, Florida from Thursday, May 18 to Sunday, May 21, with early check-in on May 17, 2023. The Reunion host hotel will be the DoubleTree by Hilton Jacksonville Riverfront. Click the Hotel Reservations button above to be taken to the reservation page. Note that in order to receive the special DDG-5 Crew Members Association room rates, room reservations MUST BE MADE NOT LATER THAN 24 APRIL 2023!
The hotel has also provided 1 free Junior Suite and 1 upgrade to a Junior Suite for the price of a standard room ($119) for the duration of the Reunion (18 - 21 May, 2023). A drawing will be held on May 8, 2023 from all shipmates who have gotten their registration forms into Glenn by May 1, 2023. The Reunion Registration form will be released as soon as the basic costs of the tour and dinner are deteremined.
Since our last Reunion held at the DoubleTree in 2018 a new service has been added.
Free shuttles from the hotel front door to historic San Marco Square. DoubleTree has teamed up with local entrepreneurs - "Beach Buggy". Offering rides to local dining, breweries, bars, theater, boutiques, and more. More information can be found here: BeachBuggyApp.
If you are thinking about or will be attending the 2023 Reunion, please take a few minutes to fill out the 2023 Reunion Attendance Survey.
There are discussions ongoing to form a "volunteer" work party to help refurbish the USS Orleck DD-886 moored across the St. Johns River from our hotel. You will find a question in the Reunion Attendance Survey asking if you're interested in doing that. You will also find a checkbox on the 2023 Reunion Registration Form asking if your interested as well. This is so that the Reunion Committee can get a good idea how many may be interested. Note that this work party may be scheduled at the same time as the tour, so if you are also interested in the workparty as well as the tour and make a payment for you to go on the tour and you decide to go on the work party, you will be refunded tour cost for who goes on the work party.
