50th Anniversary Ceremony
At 1100, we gathered on the ASROC deck of the USS Barry DD-933 for the ceremony remembering the renaming/recommissioning of our ship on 28 July 1964. Honored guests at the ceremony were Mr. James Ricketts, son of Admiral Claude V. Ricketts, Mrs. Patricia Fortson, wife of Captain Thomas E. Fortson, commanding officer during the MMD, Mrs. Fortson's daughter Trish Harris and her husband Bill.
